Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Last updated: April 2026
These policies apply to Scriptural Ritual (iOS & Android) and Daily Devotional (web) — both operated by Bound and Co. References to “the App” cover all platforms.

1. Data We Collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and, optionally, your first name.
Journal entries and reflections. Any text you write in the daily reflection journal is stored on our servers and associated with your account. This content is private to you and is never shared.
Photos and videos. If you attach photos or videos to a reflection, those files are uploaded to and stored on our secure servers. We only access them to display them back to you. You retain full ownership of everything you upload.
Reading progress and activity. We record which devotionals you have read, your reading and reflection streaks, and the dates of activity. This powers your calendar, progress view, and badges.
Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect anonymised analytics — screen views and feature usage — to understand how the App is used and where we can improve it. When you are signed in, your Supabase user ID (not your email) is used as an identifier in PostHog. We do not send your name, email, or journal content to PostHog.
Where data lives. All account data, journal content, photos, and videos are stored on Supabase servers (hosted on AWS infrastructure). Analytics data is stored on PostHog servers. Nothing is stored solely on your device; your content syncs to our servers so it is available on every platform you use.
2. Why We Collect It
- Journaling. To save, display, and sync your daily reflections and media across devices.
- Saving your content. To preserve your reading history, reflection streaks, badges, and progress so they are never lost.
- Improving the experience. Anonymised usage patterns help us understand which features are useful and where the App can be better.
- Email delivery. To send you a daily devotional email if you have opted in.
- Support. To respond to questions or requests you send us.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes, ever.
3. Third Parties
Supabase. Primary data processor. Stores your account, progress, journals, and media. supabase.com/privacy
PostHog. Usage analytics. Receives anonymised event data (screen views, feature usage) and a hashed user ID when you are signed in. No journal content or personal details are shared. posthog.com/privacy
Purelymail. Email delivery for daily devotionals and transactional emails (password reset, etc.). purelymail.com/privacy
No other third parties receive your data.
4. Device Permissions (Mobile App)
The Scriptural Ritual mobile app may request the following permissions:
- Camera. Required if you want to photograph something and attach it to a reflection directly from the app. The camera is only accessed when you actively choose to take a photo or record a video. We never access your camera in the background.
- Photos & Video Library. Required if you want to attach an existing photo or video from your library to a reflection. We only read the specific files you select; we do not scan or upload your library.
- Notifications. Used to send you an optional weekly reminder on Monday mornings to take a moment for your daily scripture. You are asked before the system permission prompt appears, and you can decline at any time. If you later change your mind, go to Settings › Notifications › Scriptural Ritual on your device.
All permissions are optional. The App works without any of them — you can still read devotionals and type reflections without granting camera, photo, or notification access.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
We use browser local storage (web) and AsyncStorage (mobile) to maintain your authentication session so you stay signed in between visits. No third-party tracking cookies are set by us. PostHog may set a first-party cookie for analytics session continuity.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account, progress, and reflection data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we permanently delete all associated data within 7 business days and send you a confirmation.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can:
- Request a copy of your data — email us and we will provide an export of your account information and reflection content.
- Correct your information — update your email or first name by contacting us.
- Delete your account — you can do this yourself directly in the app. On the mobile app, go to the Progress tab and scroll to the bottom. On the web app, go to the Progress page and scroll to the bottom. Tap or click Delete Account and confirm. All data is permanently and immediately deleted. Alternatively, email hello@boundand.co and we will remove all data within 7 business days.
- Opt out of analytics — contact us and we will disable PostHog tracking for your account.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@boundand.co.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Privacy questions or requests: hello@boundand.co
1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using Scriptural Ritual or Daily Devotional (“the App”) you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Using the App
- You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
- You agree not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could harm Bound and Co. or other users.
- You agree not to attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or redistribute any part of the App or its content without written permission.
- The devotional text, scripture references, and reflection prompts provided in the App are for personal, non-commercial use only.
3. Your Content
You own your journal entries. Everything you write in the daily reflection journal, and every photo or video you upload, belongs to you. We do not claim any ownership over your personal content.
By uploading content to the App you grant Bound and Co. a limited licence to store and display that content back to you across your devices. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
You agree not to upload content that is illegal, infringes a third-party’s rights, or is intentionally harmful.
4. Intellectual Property
The App’s design, code, branding (including the name “Scriptural Ritual” and “Daily Devotional”), and devotional text are the property of Bound and Co. and may not be reproduced without permission.
Scripture quotations are in the public domain or used under licence from their respective copyright holders.
5. Availability
We aim to keep the App available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where possible.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, secure, or meet your specific requirements. Your use of the App is at your own risk.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bound and Co. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of reflections, or device damage.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (which, as the App is currently free, means zero).
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Bound and Co. is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
